We’re Growing With You: Expanding Our Village at Live Light Birth & Family

If you’ve been part of the Live Light Birth & Family community for a while, you know we’ve always believed in one simple truth: every family deserves to feel supported, seen, and cared for.

Whether we’ve met you during pregnancy, stood beside you during birth, or helped you navigate those first tender weeks postpartum, it’s been an incredible privilege to be part of your story.

As our community continues to grow, so does our team.

Over the past year, we’ve listened closely to the needs of the families we serve. We know that support doesn’t end when your baby is born—and often, that’s when it becomes even more important. That’s why we’re so excited to

share the next chapter of Live Light Birth & Family with you.

Welcome to Our Growing Doula Team

One of the greatest joys of our work is matching families with the doula who feels like the right fit. Every birth is different. Every family is different. And every doula brings unique strengths, experiences, and passions to the work they do.

As demand for our services has grown, we’ve been fortunate to welcome several wonderful doulas to the Live Light family. Each member of our team has been thoughtfully chosen because they share the same values that have always guided our work: compassionate care, evidence-based support, inclusivity, and the belief that every family deserves to feel empowered in their choices.

Our expanding team means greater availability, more specialties, and even more opportunities to connect families with the support they deserve.

Making Your Experience Even More Seamless

We’re also excited to introduce a brand-new role within Live Light Birth & Family: our Client Care & Operations Coordinator.

From the moment you reach out to us, we want you to feel welcomed, informed, and cared for. Navigating pregnancy, birth, and postpartum can come with plenty of questions, and sometimes just knowing who to contact makes all the difference.

Our Client Care & Operations Coordinator is here to help guide families through every step of the journey—from your first inquiry and scheduling consultations to connecting you with the right providers and ensuring you always know what comes next.

Think of this role as another friendly face in your corner, helping everything behind the scenes run smoothly so you can focus on what matters most.

Expanding the Care We Offer

One thing we’ve learned over the years is that no two families have the same needs.

Sometimes you need birth support.

Sometimes you need someone to help you navigate those exhausting newborn nights.

Sometimes feeding feels harder than expected.

Sometimes you’re looking for guidance as your little one grows.

Our goal has always been to provide support that evolves alongside your family, which is why we’re thrilled to introduce several new services.

Pediatric Sleep Support

Sleep can feel overwhelming—especially when everyone seems to have a different opinion about what’s “right.”

Our Pediatric Sleep Support offers gentle, responsive, and evidence-based guidance for families navigating sleep from infancy through early childhood. Rather than one-size-fits-all solutions, we work with your family’s values, your child’s temperament, and your parenting style to create realistic, sustainable sleep plans.

Whether you’re preparing for life with a newborn or navigating toddler bedtime struggles, we’re here to help you find more rest without sacrificing connection.

Lactation Support

Feeding your baby is deeply personal, and every family’s journey looks different.

Whether you’re preparing to breastfeed before baby arrives, working through early feeding challenges, combination feeding, pumping, or simply looking for reassurance, our Lactation Support services provide compassionate, evidence-based care without judgment.

Our goal isn’t perfection—it’s helping you feel informed, confident, and supported as you find what works best for your family.

Occupational Therapy

We’re also excited to welcome Occupational Therapy services to Live Light Birth & Family.

Occupational therapists play an incredible role in supporting children and families as they grow and develop. From developmental milestones and sensory processing to feeding challenges and everyday routines, OT services help children build the skills they need to thrive while empowering parents with practical tools and support.

It’s another way we’re able to continue caring for families well beyond the newborn stage.

Education That Empowers

We believe knowledge is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself as you prepare for parenthood.

That’s why we’re excited to welcome another round of our Down & Dirty Childbirth Education Series, beginning September 4th at Fourth Tri Sanctuary in Ferndale.

Whether you’re expecting your first baby or simply looking for an evidence-based refresher, this series offers practical education, honest conversations, and real-life preparation for birth and postpartum.

Our goal isn’t to tell you how your birth should look.

It’s to help you understand your options so you can approach birth feeling informed, confident, and empowered.

New Workshop: Your New Reality – Preparing for Postpartum

The postpartum period is one of the biggest transitions you’ll ever experience, yet it’s often the one families feel least prepared for.

That’s why we’re so excited to offer Your New Reality: Preparing for Postpartum on Saturday, September 26, from 10:00 AM–1:00 PM at Metta & Moxie in Birmingham.

This workshop is designed to prepare you for the realities of life after birth—not just physically, but emotionally, mentally, and practically.

Together, with Savannah Smith of Nourished Psychotherapy, we’ll talk about recovery, feeding, sleep, relationships, mental wellness, creating your support system, and what it really means to care for yourself while caring for a newborn.

Whether you’re welcoming your first baby or growing your family, you’ll leave feeling more prepared, more

connected, and more confident in the journey ahead.

Thank You for Growing With Us

At the heart of everything we do is community.

Live Light Birth & Family has never been just about providing services. It’s about building relationships, creating connection, and making sure families know they don’t have to navigate this season alone.
